British artist George Morton-Clark presents his solo exhibition The Last Saturday Show at OKNP Busan in 2026. Born in South London, Morton-Clark studied animation before shifting the focus of his practice to painting. The sense of repetition and rhythm, speed and stillness developed through animation continues to inform the structure of his paintings.
Morton-Clark’s paintings begin with familiar forms, yet he neither reproduces nor directly appropriates them. Cartoon-like figures, visual fragments, and images drawn from popular culture are continuously transformed through processes of layering, erasure, distortion, and interruption, allowing recognizable imagery and abstract traces to intersect within a single pictorial space.

The exhibition brings together the artist’s recent paintings, in which layers of memory and emotional residue overlap. Through the transformation of familiar images into unfamiliar forms, as well as the accumulated traces of time and material across the surface, the exhibition offers an insight into George Morton-Clark’s distinctive painterly language.
